The Mary Foundation: Fighting Social Isolation via Social Media

Introduction

Founded by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary, The Mary Foundation aims to fight social isolation based on the belief that everyone has the right to belong. The foundation promotes knowledge, breaks down taboos and creates awareness as well as potential solutions within the areas of ‘bullying and well-being’, ‘domestic violence’, and ‘loneliness’. It aims to create hope and a better life for those who feel alone, by creating greater understanding and tolerance among the communities it works with. Challenge

The Mary Foundation has a good reputation, but there was still a need to create greater public engagement and get people to know what the foundation stands for. Having developed a new communications strategy focusing on strengthening its market position and increasing awareness of its core messages, now was the time for the Mary Foundation to step up its marketing efforts.

It was decided that social media should be the main channel of communication, and Sunrise was chosen as the agency partner to get the conversation going.
